Hi everyone! I've been really busy with college lately, I'm really loving it so far but it leaves me with little time for personal stuff. I have also been taking a great class at The Art Department with Marshall Vandruff, thanks to a dA contest they did some time ago where I was lucky to be one of the third place winners. Marshall is a fantastic teacher and I would recommend taking his classes to everyone.

Some cool things have happened for me art-wise lately. I recently found out that my 'Ventura' piece will be in the next issue of Ballistic's Exposé books, which was surprising and awesome. I will also be in the CD gallery of next month's ImagineFX magazine, so I'm looking forward to that. Last month my art also appeared in a sci-fi/steampunk show at the WarmStreets Gallery in Virginia, in an exhibition to raise funds to support the homeless. And I was invited to participate at the Light Grey Art Lab in Minnesota, in an exhibition on environments they are making this August in collaboration with Mike Yamada and Victoria Ying. There will also be a book on that, but I will share more information once I have it later this year.

Anyway, I made myself a Behance account recently, so please come say hello if you have an account: [link]

Thanks for reading, cheers!

In exactly one week I will be moving to the United States to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design (the Savannah campus). Moving out of my home country, leaving my family and friends here, is something that will probably take me a while to digest, but I will be doing it to pursue an artistic career, which will (hopefully) make up for it. And if for some reason I don't feel happy, I will just go back or try something else. But I do not think that will happen. Fortunately I know a couple of people who go there already. If any of you go there too, feel free to tell me, I'd love to meet you.

I don't normally write things about my personal life here but this a huge change for me. Thanks to those who have given me their interest and support during the time I've been on this site :)

HM10: Symphony

Journal Entry: Mon Jun 4, 2012, 5:13 PM
I´m happy to announce that our 10th exhibition is now online!

We have entitled this release "Symphony" because we want to bring a visual concert to you, generated from a common passion that unites us as artists: music. We have given room for expression and creation, reinterpreting our favourite tracks, genres and authors, from classical music to industrial tunes, from black metal to dance pop, travelling through a wide spectrum of shades to bring you a diverse but coherent collection. We are sure that you will find some of your favourite music themes visually re-created in this exhibition from the personal visions of the collective's artists, since we have material for everyone's tastes. Plus! Don't miss out the tracks that our musicians have created for this release, getting inspired by classical works of art and moreover, from the very visual pieces of this art-pack!

We offer you a moment to get delighted, relaxed and to let yourself go. We hope you enjoy it and don't forget to turn the volume up!

I need your help (Artists Wanted)

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 30, 2012, 12:31 AM
Hi!

Have you heard of Artists Wanted? It's this contest which the winner will have his or her art showcased at Times Square in NYC. Artists with the most 'collects' will make it to the final round of judging. I would really appreciate it if you could enter the site and click "Collect Me" at the top; it's that easy (no registration needed) and it would only take a few seconds. Here's the link:

Please tell me if you participate too and I'll be happy to return the favor.

Thank you!

I got a Mac! + Features

Journal Entry: Thu Jan 12, 2012, 9:06 PM
I got my MacBook Pro today --I'd never had a Macintosh before-- and just now have I realized how badly calibrated my old monitor was. I'm seeing my paintings with other eyes. I can't believe how dark the darks actually look on a good screen: that is something I will definitely have to fix from now on. Other than that, I'm really happy and I can't wait to start using my new notebook and getting used to it :)

On a different topic, here are some of my recent faves chosen at random. Hope you like them!

Heartsurge Exhibit E: Inertia released!

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 27, 2011, 10:11 AM
The Heartsurge art collective is proud to present  Exhibition E: "Inertia", which is defined by the refusal of a change in movement (say, the Earth's refusal to spin or move in a different direction). A definition we'd like to associate with our group. Over the past few months, our members were heavily tested into creating something with movement, while being a static matter altogether. However, as we said before; the definition of Inertia is one that we can apply to Heartsurge; we resist any change in our motion. In our case that would be our motion upwards.

And thus, after over 5 months of hard work. We are extremely proud to present 27 profound pieces of art and music that visualized each of our, new and old, artists interpretation of Inertia. Each and every single one of them unique in their very own way, something we hold in high value within our collective.

That being said, we can only advice you to hold on to your seats, as this exhibition is surely to blow you away. Enjoy!

1st Daily Deviation + Features

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 8, 2011, 4:44 PM
Hello! Two days ago I got my first Daily Deviation on Mezame, which was a really nice surprise. But even better has been the kindness that I've received since then. I want to thank especially =TaNa-Jo, who was extremely generous to give me a 1-month Premium Membership, but also to the people who have watched and supported me.

I love forest paintings, so I figured that now that I can I would feature some of the ones I've found here on DA that I like. If you have some of your own or you've found other forest paintings that you like, please share them!

Finally, I'd like to feature *Evolvana, who has featured my pieces on various occasions. I am now able to thank her. She is an amazing artist, so go watch her if you haven't already!

The Heartsurge family is extremely proud to release their first themed exhibition "Exhibit D: Awakening". Yet again we decided to challenge ourselves to work along the theme of waking up, both in a real way and a surreal sense. These past months our artists worked hard to bring you 31 high quality works of art and music to wake you up. What you can expect is something that crosses the reality and delves deep into your sense of interpretation, both through your eyes and ears.

We decided to underline the new talent that arrived since our third exhibition in the shape of German photographer Benny Brand and chose him as the well deserved featured artist of Exhibit D: Awakening. Benny was one of the first new artists who joined after our well received Exhibit C. With his creative mind he submitted some amazing photography as well as proving himself to be a valuable asset to the collective.
Read the interview with him here! [link]

And last but certainly not least. We are extremely excited to bring you V3 of Heartsurge. Aside from making the exhibition itself, our web-oriented members worked hard on making this a true representation of what Heartsurge is about.

Now that we have told you everything we can tell you, sit back, breathe in and immerse yourself in the phenomenon of Awakening.

This is the first time I've participated in a Heartsurge release, and in fact it is the first time I have contributed to an art collective. It's been a pleasure and I look forward to seeing what's next!
